JUNE 7, 1963 – APRIL 8, 2022

Pono Del Shim, 58 of Honolulu, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his home in Mānoa, surrounded by his family. The son of Alvin Tong Shim and Marion Healani Heen Shim, he is the sixth born of seven children. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Shim, daughter, Chantele Kaliko Pua I Ka Wēkiu Shim, and siblings Liko Martin, Neumann Shim, Dari Matsuura, Dana Palama, and Sy Shim. Pono was predeceased by his brother, Sri Shim.

Please join us in his celebration of life on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Bishop Memorial Chapel of the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Campus. Visitation begins at 9:30am, with service to follow at 10:30am. Masks will be required. A livestream of the service will be available, as well as a recording after the service for those who wish to join remotely or asynchronously.
